Beach glass storage/protection

by Chris
(Painesville, OH)

Hello all-I am a recent convert to the cult of sea glass-ever since I saw that first little piece of kelly green I can't wait to get back to the beach.

I have a question about storage of pieces. I am worried about chipping/scratching the beautiful frosted finish that these little jewels have.

Can they just be put in a plastic storage container or...?

Storing Sea Glass
by: David @ Odyssey

Sea glass is actually pretty tough, including the frosted surface. After handling many thousands of pieces, I don't recall any that have had the frosting damaged. Of course, my eyes ain't what they used to be.

Sea glass will break though, especially if crushed. So storing them in plastic storage containers rather than plastic bags is definitely recommended.
