I've started collecting what I call "river glass" on the banks of the Mississippi River in New Orleans. Comparing what I've found to pictures on this site, what I'm finding would fall in the Craft B category. It may not be "high class" glass, but I've become addicted to looking for it and am becoming much more selective about the pieces I pick up. There is not much of a color selection--I've found mostly shades of green and white. Blue is extremely rare--finding even a single tiny tiny piece during a day's hunt makes me really happy. The glass is dirty. I've soaked mine in vinegar--since vinegar and newspaper does such a good job of cleaning glass windows and mirrors, I thought it might work with river glass too. It does get the surface dirt off. I haven't tried using a brush to scrub it yet.

River Glass by: Em
I saw a question about cleaning River Glass. Can you tell me how and where you find River Glass? And also what differs River Glass from Sea Glass? Thank you!

For me I use a really soft tooth brush and a cheap white toothpaste. Because what is not gentle to take care as our teeth.
