Fort Bragg Sea Glass Festival - But When?

(Fort Bragg, CA)

City of Fort Bragg

We originally thought of Aug 8-9 to fill a gap here between July 4 and Labor Day. This does not appear good in the sea glass world, though.

So we are now considering Labor Day for a 3 day event. That is a huge weekend here with Paul Bunyon Days (lumberjack competitions and events), The gem and mineral show and a slew of other things as well.

Please let me know if you might be interested for either this year or next. I know we sort of just popped this out there for this year. We thought primarily West Coast artists might be interested. There are also several artists right in this area.

There is a possiblity that if we have a small number of artists that we can hold it right on the Glass Beach Museum property. That would considerably lower costs and entry fees. In fact, for a small event we might have no fees at all.

The main business here will not be sea glass enthusiasts, but general tourists. A location like this is often to much of a trek for other enthusuiasts who are closer to other shows, like Santa Cruz. But my things are very popular with the tourists because a lot of them come here simply for Glass Beach, and most others end up going there.

If the shows succeed, we can expect more enthusiasts to make the trek.

So is this year a possiblity for some of you? And who might want to schedule it in next year?

Thanks for your time and great replies,
Cass
