Help With Lettering on Brown Sea Glass please...

I bought a wonderful collection of sea glass that was mostly gathered from Lake Superior.

This particular piece appears to be from the bottom of a Hi-lex bleach bottle.

I tried to search the font to figure out what year it was from but I couldn't pin it down.

Does anyone have an idea of when it might be from?

Hi from Odyssey! Wow that is interesting. I'm not that good at identifying sources but some of our viewers are really good at this and will probably nail it down.

Some of the bottle sites also might be of help. If you haven't checked already!

Even though it is not very rounded or frosted, the interesting pattern and letters makes it a keeper.

If it is not a newer bottle, you will probably find it in Warman's Bottles Field Guide, one of the best books on old bottles.

Hi-lex Glass
by: Anonymous

With the rise of washing machines, Hi-lex began selling bleach and ammonia for their use in the 1910s.

Glass bottles were the primary form of storage until the invention of the much cheaper plastic bottle in the early 1960s.

By 1962, Hi-lex bottles were no longer glass.
