Just A Dream?

Just A Dream?

The first week of November had me walking the shore of beautiful Houghton Lake in Northern Michigan searching for beach glass.

With the temperature being in the upper 50s, it was an unseasonably warm day for this time of year in our part of the country.

I figured I would get lucky and find a piece of glass or two, but never imagined in my dreams that I would have such an amazing day.

I immediately started finding glass of all shapes, sizes and colors. Several pieces with marks, logos, lettering, etc, and I even found my first piece of light orange.

But the real icing on the cake was when, for no apparent reason, I decided to use my walking stick to turn over a small pile of leaves which just happened to hiding a beautiful ink well from the mid 1800s.

After just under two hours of searching I had found 187 pieces of beach glass and the beautiful ink well.

Of course my Nikon CoolPix L820 camera was put to work when I got home, and I now have many photos of my dream day of beach combing.
