Lahaina sea glass?

Lahaina, Maui...seems like a logical place to find sea glass.

Old harbor,etc.

Has any one had any luck???

I have jars full of sea glass that I've collected since moving to Maui.

All of it was found on the West side (Lahaina side) of the island.

Depending on conditions, you can find it along the shore from Front Street to Napili.

Lahaina

The short beach near Cheeseburger in paradise actually has a lot of small pieces, good for collages.

You just need to step into the water, grab handfuls of sand and sift through a colander or coarse-screened sifter.

We found a few larger pieces as well as some nice pieces of pottery.

FRONT ST. SEA GLASS

The beach on Front street is tiny and has been well picked over. Not much left.

Lahaina sea glass

We were on Maui from mid July to mid August, and only 1 day did the Seaglass Gods smile on us at Cheeseburger beach (Front St.)

That is not to say we didn't have good luck during our trip....we did.

We found some of the best pieces yet including a HUGE thick amber in the shape of an "L" (for Lahaina) that a couple of the sea glass artists (hi Creighton) wanted.

If the tide is right and the sand is stripped away you will find lots of old color on Front St beach.
