purple button?

We have found several deep purple button like objects.

They appear to be extremely old, about the size of a nickle, slight convex shape with an outer ridge and a hole in the center.

They appear to be possibly a button or some sort of electrical isolator.

Any help identifying these objects?

Hi this is Nick from Seaglass Dreams. What you are finding are vintage light bulb insulators that were from the bottom of the bulb base. These look almost black but are a deep purple in color. Hope this helps........Nick
