Reddish Glassy Nipple?? Beach Glass...What is it?

by Angela
(Owensboro, KY)

I was told to search for "beach glass" by a friend, and eventually found this site.

I hope I don't sound ignorant, but I was on vacation recently to Maine and was looking for shells and found a red-ish nipple-shaped something that looks and feels like dull glass.

I cannot imagine what it is, so could you give me a clue as to what it might possibly be?

It's shape reminds me of an eye-dropper, pacifier, or nipple off a baby bottle, but those things would never be made of glass! Any clues???

Thank you!

Thanks for the responses! A bottle stopper! I never thought of that! I guess they did have glass ones in the old days!

And I don't know how to upload pics to the net. I only know how to load them onto the pc with a program called Photo Wizard that my son put on it for me, then they go into a folder he set up. I will ask him if he can upload a pic of it onto the site for me. I am 55 and not that tech-friendly, LOL.

Thanks again for your replies!

Hi Angela,

It does sound exciting to find out what your sea glass is!

It is easy to upload a photo here if it is on your computer. The next time you write a NEW page like you did here originally, you will see the box "Do you want to upload a photo?"

Click the "browse" button and it lets you find where you have the photo on your computer. Then you just click once on the photo file name and it will upload when you preview your post.

Have fun!

Maybe it's...

I don't know, but maybe you have a bottle stopper? That's the only thing I can think it would be.

Hi Angela,

It sounds very interesting! Could you upload a photo? Otherwise it's going to be very hard to identify it.

Thanks!
