Sea Glass Sun Catcher

Sea Glass Sun Catcher
It looks complicated but I think anyone who can wire wrap and finish a simple pendant could do it. I start off by deciding on a design for the main body, in this case butterfly wings, and I make a simple outline of the shape I want with a loop included for the hanging part I then get a thinner gauge wire (0.04mm) and wrap it to form a loose mesh which will act as a loose backing while I wrap each individual piece on. If you don't have a big collection of sea glass I would recommend working out pieces for your design in advance like a mosaic if you want it to fit together more uniformly but I don't want that as I need gaps so I can add beads as I like that element and I think it adds character. I leave a small space at the top for ribbon or clear elastic/thread for hanging. The rest on the sun catcher is beaded tigertail and wire wrapped individual sea glass pieces and is quite easy to do. Could easily be incorporated into a wind chime. I am looking into maybe making some with copper pipes possibly recycled ones.
