(California, USA)

Shell Beach by mscaprikell

Name of Beach and Comments: Shell beach

Location: .5 miles north of Pismo Beach, California...

I have found ALL colors
there. I promise you will spend ALL day there and never run out of sea glass to collect.

The only problem, if you want to call it a problem, is that it's usually small. About the size of a bean. All colors can even be found, including red, bright yellow, pink, violet, orange, and so on these sea glass colors are rare but they are there - I have found them..........

How would you rate this beach for sea glass?: Excellent (16+ jewelry grade pcs. found per hour)

"HAVE FUN"

Larry

Shell Beach - Went there June19th, 2010
by: Anonymous

Just went to Shell Beach in Pismo, ca yesterday..

The beach is hard to get to, only about 2 access points to get down and you have to either climb carefully or should I say slide down a cliff or go down about 100 stairs and then BACK UP.

I loved all the little rocks/gravel- found some sea glass but it was small like a little bean so not really jewelry quality.

I found another lady there looking and she had some also but once again small.

I enjoyed all the colors of little rocks and shells though- green, blue, turquoise, clear, etc.. So it was worth my trip!

My beach glass is all from Lake Erie. I have red, yellow, orange, purple, lavender, various shades of greens and blues, and gray, and browns. I have about 40 lbs of glass.

Need to go back home and get more this summer!

But would love to go to some other beaches and hunt!

Dinosaur Caves Shell Beach
by: jodi

Until the recent erosion, Dinosaur Caves in Shell Beach was the best place for sea glass. Nice huge pieces, bigger than whats found on the other beaches, marbles, even black sea glass. Now that the main cave has totally caved in the beaches in the caves are keeping the treasure buried under what used to be the cliff. There are several beaches in Shell Beach that have great pickins!! Try asking a local at the beach to show you some good spots in the area. Warning: some of these beaches are difficult to get to. Down drain pipes, ropes, etc. etc. Definitely not for sissies!!

NO BEACH OUT OF REACH!!!
