After years of collecting, photographing, and then storing our sea glass and shells, we found this table and knew it belonged in our home.

Now we can enjoy displaying our beach combing treasures, and are constantly reminded of many joyous hours spent on beaches all around the country.

Shown are all the colors of sea glass we have found so far, including:

  • the large lavender at the top,

  • multis,

  • bonfire and safety glass (with wire inside),

  • Vaseline (uranium) glass (and a small blacklight to see them glow),

  • marbles,

  • milk glass,

  • jadite, as well as some

  • sand dollars, shells, sharks teeth, abalone, and pottery.

Where was this photo taken?

In our living room on January 3, 2013 at 3:02 p.m.
The snow is melting outside, dry and warm inside!

What were your feelings or impressions when taking this photo?

I love getting to display some of our beach combing treasures where we can appreciate them, instead of in boxes in the shed!

What kind of camera and/or lens did you use?

What tips or suggestions do you have for other photographers?

This picture isn't so much about the quality of the photo as it is about enjoying our treasures.

What beach is the best for finding? I was at Sand Harbor yesterday and only found a few pieces.

display table

I got this table at Pottery Barn, but it is currently not available.

You can search online for the Townsend coffee table, and sometimes you'll find one for sale.

Also, if you do a Google image search for "display coffee table" you'll see a lot of different ones, including some you can make yourself.
