Two Hours of Beach Glass Found

Two Hours of Beach Glass Found

~ submitted by Holly Harris

Hi there:

I was going to upload this to your Sea Glass photo contest, but it's not a pretty picture. But
... it is interesting.

These were picked up within two hours on the beach.

Within 100 feet I picked up the largest piece of glass I've ever found, as well as the smallest intact.

The large piece measures 14 inches across. It was in two feet of water - I had on leather boots but didn't think twice.

The small vial is 2 inches high - it's beautiful and intact.

But there were also many thick glass pieces from old Coke bottles - this catch runs the gamut from new to old.

I believe the reason this all was available - we have been in a drought and our lake level is very low.

Items that never would come to surface were suddenly left "high and dry."
