Original Old Glass Beads Tumbled by Waves and Found Years Later
Some of the uncommon and unusual beach glass finds are marbles, bottle stoppers, mixed colors, etc. Among these rarer finds you might be fortunate to encounter glass beads and buttons.Where did these come from?
These may have been trade beads and buttons used for trading with American Natives in the past, beads and buttons being brought in on a ship that foundered, beads and buttons dumped in an old dump site, or even a bead or button just lost while its owner was on the beach.
Here are some beads from our (Lin and David) collection, most of which we've found on Pacific and Atlantic shores in North and South America as well as a collection of beads and buttons that our good friend Robin Ramon has found:
