your Odyssey Sea Glass News #058 - Sea Glass Festival, Year Contest..
December 28, 2011
Hi,

Lin_and_David
Make your hobby your business.
How are you doing on this brisk winter (N. Hemisphere) or sultry (S. Hemisphere) day?

Well, we're all getting ready for a new sea glass season starting next year (3 days away!)

Lin and I are in the N. Hemisphere for the time being, in Sequim, Washington State.

With winter storms, bigger surf, and stronger currents, the beaches this time of year are tossing up and uncovering new finds... get right on it if you can!

If you can't personally walk the beaches of the world, well, Lin and I bring a lot to the fun to our site right here on OdysseySeaGlass.com.

Santa Cruz Sea Glass Festival 2011

Lin and I had the pleasure to go to the Santa Cruz Sea Glass and Ocean Arts Festival in Santa Cruz. California, last month, and boy was it fun!

The winner of the first-place $500.00 prize was Sally Mesa with her amazing piece of peach-pink sea glass.

What is it? No one was positive, but it was announced that it might possibly be the handle of a vintage glass letter opener. Who made that tentative ID? Lin herself right here next to me (my sweetie...my wife).

Lin had a glass letter opener that belonged to her grandmother and this beautiful piece of sea glass was very similar in size and shape.

In our next newsletter, we will post more exciting photos. The other winning pieces were, well, just fabulous!
