Oct 2015 Florida's Satellite Beach

I have heard that Satellite Beach Florida is a good place to find sea glass.

Has anyone been there?

Where in Satellite Beach do I look?

Satallite Beach Sea Glass

Was just at the beach North of DeSoto and found about 20 pieces of assorted colors. Really had to look hard since the sand has been replenished.

Not much luck
by: Barbara

I live in Sat Beach and have been searching for sea glass for years. I've only found about 8 pieces total. I'm going to try to search when there are huge piles of shells and see if that makes a difference.

No glass
by: Lisa

I've been searching at low tide for 2 days with no luck. Im staying at the Sandpiper which has beach access. I consider myself an experienced hunter. Very few shells.

Thank you Lisa, for adding this information :)

Sea Glass

Low or High tide! the Sun is your guide. She light up the sand and sheds light on the sea glass.

The area between N. Indialantic and S. Satellite Beach still gives us Her treasures.
Indigenous to our local beaches.

Mostly White Large to medium. Brown all the time in all sizes and shapes, Green in Various sizes and shades of color. Red! Found only 1. Nice shape and color.

Found it this morning in the middle of a pile of Seaweed! Happy hunting :)

Hit or Miss on Satellite Beach
by: Tony

At low tide I usually find about 15 pieces of glass between DeSoto Parkway and Pinetree Ave.

About 85% is brown and the rest is white or green.

One afternoon I found 88 pieces in about three hours.

Mounds of shell hash were a bonus to sift through.

Melbourne Beach

I live in Melbourne and have searched the surrounding beach's without much luck.

I do find glass on Melbourne beach and on downwards toward Sebastian inlet. It has to be low tide though.

Today I found a beautiful piece of teal glass and got a nice sunburn :)

Wow! That is great, I would love to find a piece of blue glass.

I have only found green and brown and 1 white here in Florida and nothing at Satellite Beach.

Awesome Sea Glass
by: Pamela Dieffenderfer

I walk the beach every day and find sea glass just about every time.

The tide has to be low.

I went late this afternoon low tide and found blue glass. What an awesome find.

My husband and I go together and we have such a wonderful time.

See you there!!!!!

I went down there last weekend looking around Pelican Point Park and south a few miles but didn't find any sea glass.

I also went to Canaveral National Seashore and found 2 pieces of the craft grade I think, one brown and one green and also a few smaller pieces.

Looking For Glass
by: Satellite Beach

I Was On Beach At Desota And At Grant St. On 01-03-11 And Found Nothing At Either Site.

Surf Fishing Was Great Though.

Waiting For The Pumped Sand To Wash Out.

These Were Always Good Sites.

Keep Looking And Don't Give Up.

I found 2 pieces of aqua glass today, along with some green that needed to be thrown back.

This is only the 2nd time I have seriously looked for glass...beginner's luck?

Satellite Beach Sea Glass

I just moved away from Satellite Beach-Indian Harbour Beach a few weeks ago.

For the two years that I lived there - the hunting was GREAT!!!!

Try the area from Pelican Park south for about a 1/2 mile. A good storm brings in lots!

I found my first piece of red glass there.

You will find primarily brown and greens - but occasionally white and turquoise...

Happy Hunting!!
