More Information on the Milford, Connecticut beaches:

Since Milford is located on the Long Island Sound, the beaches do not receive the wave action that would be found on an Atlantic coastline.

What this means for sea glass hunters is that glass shards on the coastline will take much, much longer to become rounded and frosted than glass pieces discarded on beaches open to the ocean itself.

The likelihood of finding Jewelry Grade sea glass is therefore much less than you would find on beaches facing the open Atlantic ocean.

That doesn't mean that you can't find beautiful sea glass there, it is just less likely that you will find well-tumbled and frosted glass than if Milford was on the open coastline.
