What happened to the Sea Glass??

by Michele
(Santa Cruz, CA)

I live in Santa Cruz and love to find those wonderful pieces of beautiful polished tumbled glass. In the past month I have had no luck..at any of the beaches in the area. What happened to the sea glass? I am new to this...started last spring and up until last month always found something on my walks. Maybe someone who has been at this longer can explain the sea glass seasons to me, please?????

In about one month or more, the big north swells will start hitting Santa Cruz beaches and overturning the sand. A lot of stuff will come to the surface so it's most likely you'll be finding some good pieces of sea glass then. Before that...well there might be some good wave action but not to be counted on.
