Beauty within - Seaglass Sandwich

~ submitted by Diane in Barbados

This "sandwich" photo shows interesting lighting with an unusual dark background setting off the rich yellow piece of sea glass in the middle layer.

Added notes:

Located in the Lesser Antilles group of islands in the Caribbean, Barbados is one of the most popular Caribbean tourist destinations.

The name Barbados, given by the early Spanish and Portuguese settlers, means "Bearded Ones," but it's not sure what that name referred to; whether the inhabitants they found or some other characteristic of the island.

With a land area of 166 square miles (431 square kilometers), Barbados has a very significant coastline size.

The British Empire, which controlled Barbados 1625, has left its mark politically, socially, and economically on this island population.

One of the most productive of Britain's colonies, Barbados's key position in the Caribbean along with its rich history and extensive beaches make it an excellent spot to look for beach treasure, not the least of which is sea glass.

Very lovely photograph. I love the darkness which brings out the rich colors of the sea glass.

Love the extra information guys, it really adds to the content of the picture.
Gives me more insight as to where the sea glass was found and perhaps how it got there.
Thank you
Cheers,
Marylyn
