Broken wide mouth bottle (well-worn)

by Karl
(Argyle Shore, Prince Edward Island, Canada)

I live on the South Shore of Prince Edward Island. In the beach, I found the well-worn top of a bottle that has the beginning of a word, and I can see that the word begins with the letters T, I and C.

The bottle is clear and transparent in color and it looks like the bottle might have a wide mouth. Could you please help me to identify what the bottle might have been, who made it and what years it might be from?

TICURA ?
by: Glass face

Hi there, great find!
I asked chat GPT.

Here is a possible answer.

"TICURA or TICURA CO.

Ticura was a patent medicine brand active in the early 1900s, promoted as a "blood purifier" or general health tonic. The product was typically sold in embossed glass bottles featuring the name "TICURA" on the front or side. These bottles often came in green or blue glass and are notable for their wide mouths—an unusual feature for patent medicine bottles, which were more commonly narrow-necked. The wide mouth may have been intended to accommodate a spoon or facilitate easier pouring and reuse."

Update?

I had a friend mention that maybe the letters are "Tigh" which could be "Tighten"? Sometimes bottles described how to close the bottle.

Beachcombing the South Shore of Prince Edward Island

Beachcombing the South Shore of Prince Edward Island
If you're looking for sea glass and a peaceful stroll, the South Shore of Prince Edward Island is pure magic. The beaches here are warm, quiet, and perfect for wandering with your eyes on the sand and your pockets slowly filling up. Thanks to the gentle waves of the Northumberland Strait, sea glass gets beautifully frosted and smooth—like little gems tumbled just for you. You’ll spot soft greens, aqua, and browns, and if you’re lucky, a splash of cobalt or lavender. The red sand and sandstone cliffs give the whole place a warm, earthy glow, and with PEI’s rich maritime history, every piece feels like a tiny mystery from the past. It’s the kind of place where time slows down, your worries drift out with the tide, and every find feels like a small treasure. Just don’t forget a bag—or you’ll be juggling sea glass all the way home!
