God Bless the U.S.A. - November 2016 Sea Glass Photo Contest

United we stand.

United we stand.

Where was this photo taken? (If appropriate, enter the beach name, city, state or province, country)

This photo was taken in Kenosha, Wisconsin, USA.

Date, time of day, and weather conditions?

It was just before sunset that I found this beautiful piece of beach glass, around 5 o'clock on an unseasonably warm Indian summer Friday night.

What were your feelings or impressions when taking this photo?

As it was taken the weekend before elections, I truly felt that this was a sign that we are one united states, cannot be broken. I was overwhelmed with a sense of pride for the country In which I live.

What kind of camera and/or lens did you use?

I know it is not the greatest picture as it was with my old iPhone, if I can find a camera to borrow to take a better picture I will.

What tips or suggestions do you have for other photographers?

Invest in a good camera! It will help to capture some of these rare beauties!

Yes, please

I love the piece of glass. And I love even more the fact that you were trying to keep this site politically neutral. We are being bombarded in every other area of our lives. See glass, to me, is a universal all in bracing hobby.

Non-partisan votes please!
by: David from OdysseySeaGlass

I made a decision to allow this photo and title because it was fairly general or generic statement. However, some of the comments have begun to reflect political stands one way or the other.

We have received some polite requests objecting to some politically-oriented comments about this photo. I had not seen the comments yet and didn't realize the possible negative effects that might arise.

Therefore, Lin and I have decided to eliminate the more political comments here. In the future we will not allow reference to things political.

It will be up to us to make decisions on posting possibly controversial photos, submissions, or comments, so be aware of that when you send something in.

We aren't mad at anyone of you Smiley. If you have made a comment that is now being deleted, please feel free to comment again. However, please comment on the sea glass photo and avoid patriotic or partisan comments.

We just want to stay completely neutral. Lin and I are totally neutral as regards political things and want our site to reflect an attitude of respect and love for all our fellow humans.

Thanks again to all and we know that nobody intended to offend anyone else.
