Where was this photo taken?

Transfer Beach, Vancouver Island, BC, Canada

Date, time of day, and weather conditions?

May 2, 2015 sometime after noon before 3 pm, about 15C clear skies

What were your feelings or impressions when taking this photo of sea glass?

The shell these pieces are in is only about 4 cm across, so you can imagine how small each one is!!

I am intrigued by the variety of colours and shapes and how even all jumbled up they just look like they all belong together.

What kind of camera and/or lens did you use?

We actually have a nice Nikon camera, but when I went to take this photo, the battery was dead!

So I ended up borrowing my daughter's iPhone 4

Then at home I cropped the original picture, (which included more shells and some larger pieces of sea glass), so that these small ones could be seen more clearly.

Unfortunately though, it then lost its perspective on the size of the sea glass pieces.

What tips do you have for taking good photos of sea glass?

Make sure you take your extra battery with you all the time!

Let your imagination take you as far as the sea glass may have travelled!
