How old is it and what could it have been?



  • Slightly larger than a quarter.


  • Light greenish grey in color.


  • It has iridescent mixture of triangular imprints on front side only.


It was found on rocky water side in Cooperstown, Abacos, Bahamas.

It is a Jewish Star, aka Star of David.
How it got in the sea, is a mystery, but I hope this helps, please let me know if you get this message.

I would also be inclined to think it might be a designer button. Please let us know.. Could be one of those that had a loop closure, not necessitating any type of thread attachment. I can just imagine it on a glamorous color matched coat or cape...

Too thick for button

It is big for a button...the piece is also pretty thick about 9mm (3/8 inch) or so. It would have been too heavy for a button. Thank you though

Sea glass button?

Although a little big for a button, it might be one. Does the back look like there was at one time a little loop protruding for the thread to go through?
