Purple Light Bulb Insulator?

Sea Glass Light Bulb Insulator

Sea Glass Light Bulb Insulator

I found this piece that looked like a piece of black metal until I held it to the light.

It's a deep purple and about the size of a lifesaver candy.

Is this a Sea Glass Light Bulb Insulator and if yes, how old do you think it might be?

Insulator piece
by: Brenda

Very old piece of an insulator. Ive been able to find 7 or 8 on the Jersey shores in the last few years. Great find! The ones I have range from jet black/deep red (edges) when held to light,Black/cobalt and black/purplish.

That purple round thing looks delicious! Is it grape flavor?

pleasing Purple

I am in Nova Scotia. I've found a few pieces of the purple insulators, but never the complete circle. Excellent find.

It looks like a grape lifesaver in the light. Black when it's on the counter.
