Mona's Sea Glass Window Panes

Mona's Sea Glass Window Panes

~ sea glass project submitted by Mona in Maine

In her contribution "My Sea Glass Window," Mona described replacing the glass with Plexiglas to avoid cracking the glass.

On this window, she glued directly to the glass and it did crack.

On the other hand, it looks great to me. I love the solid colors around the edge and the collage in the middle.

Thanks, Mona!

Type of glue

What brand of glue did you use to glue the glass?

You said you replaced pane of glass with Plexiglass - did the glass stay glued to plexiglass ?

Awesome
by: Mary Lou

Just beautiful. I have so much sea glass I have found in Delaware, Maryland, and Caribbean and would love to do something with it.

Can you please tell me what is on the back of the frame? Is it like the front?

How do you keep it together with the plexiglass in middle? That is what confuses me the most.

Also where do you buy plexiglass?

I would be eternally grateful for your help.

I need to make some extra money since I am retired and I believe this might help me.

I live in Delaware by the way.

Thank you.

Absolutely beautiful!!!

I have always been in love with beach glass and love to wonder about where it originated, what it was and the stories it can tell about what it was, who owned it, how it got to the sea and the creatures it encountered before I found it on the shore.

I glued my sea glass to a Camp lantern that had a plastic like globe and I enjoy it on my deck every evening.

Beautiful work.! Keep creating please. You are a true artist!😀

Lovely Piece - Sea glass Window

Mona - were your pieces for this flat or curved? also how did you fill the small gaps between pieces or are the gaps still there? Its hard to tell from the picture. I love it - would like to try one for myself.

Wow!!

You are my idol! This is one of the best pieces I have seen, certainly my favorite! Thank you for the inspiration, and the tip about cracking, I would have learned the hard way.

Love this idea-a piece of art!

What kind of glue do you recommend and did you use a clear grout??

I plan to do a small project too.
