I think I Know what this piece is. by: Kbell
It looks like the top of a wine cork with the cork rotted away. Probably had another gem/ stone on top. It's definitely hand made by the looks of it. It would make a cool necklace with some leather or whatever cord you like.
Enjoy the piece! I want to come down there now and look for gems like that! Lol
