Thanks for submitting this. It is hard to say what this might be. However, glass does not usually crack this way and does not remain shiny for very long. Depending on its size and other factors it could be obsidian (volcanic rock) a lump of tar or perhaps something else.

Size comparison with something like a pencil beside the photo also helps when trying to identify and object.
