Como

Lake Como, Italy

I found about 30 pieces of green, clear and brown beach glass and one piece of opaque white glass. None of the pieces were as frosted and rounded as sea glass, but all the sharp edges were gently rounded. As a result, the pieces were larger (one almost 2" across!) and the shapes were unlike sea glass shapes. Many pieces are 3-5mm thick.

There aren't many places to hunt for glass on the lake within Como city. The rocky spit of land where I found most of these is between Monumento ai Caduti and Tempio Voltiano. When the water is low, this spit curves about 30m out into the lake. The water is not very clean, and the park is not safe at night; But the view is beautiful and the glass is plentiful.
