Name of Beach and Location: Hayama Beach, off of Route 134 in the city of Hayama, on Honshu, in the country of Japan.

On Hayama Beach which is located behind the Japan's Emperors summer palace, go to the left and follow the beach to the rock cliffs, wade through the water at low tide to the little island.

There is more glass than you can carry.

Beautiful pieces and an abundance daily.

I use a kayak to get to the island only because the water is cold during non summer months.

There are all shapes, sizes, and colors.

Have found close to 100 bottle tops, some with partial neck and others with full neck just last year alone.

Found a few sea glass marbles and burnt crystallized pieces as well.    Worth the trip.

Off of Route 134 in the city of Hayama, on Honshu, in the country of Japan.

Hyama , Japan

I lived near Hyama back in the early 90's and you could find old Imara pottery shards as well as beautiful sea glass.

There were large pottery shards right behind the Emperor's summer home.

The guards would watch you but never bothered us as we looked for sea glass and pottery shards.

Update
by: Jessica M

Just visited this location today 10/28/2015.

Even at low tide this location is now unreachable.

There is a sign and fence up stating that it is off limits due to falling rock and all violators will be fined or jailed.

The beach that is accessible has some pottery and sea glass shards however nothing exceptional.

Thank you for this update, Jessica! Too bad the beach is closed :(
