~ sea glass identification question submitted by Michael in Sheffield, England

Hi,

I found a lump of glass on a British beach.

Height is 5cm and 4cm at the bottom.

That is all I can say.

I do hope someone can help.

If its not quartz, it well may be "Fire Glass". We get a lot up here on Lake Erie bc they burn lots of driftwood while tossing their empties into the intense fires

It's hard to tell what it is
by: David

I get the same feeling as Anonymous. The photo is not clear enough to really tell what this is.

However, I would be inclined to say it's quartz.

Then again, better photos would help.

Is it glass?
by: Anonymous

Is it actually glass? It looks more like a piece of quartz with all the internal facets.
