March 2017, Anglesey Crab Claw. Gonna Need a Bigger Boat!

by Liz
(Manchester,UK)

My hubby found this crab claw.

The crab must have been huge!

David and Lin's comment:

Ohhh, looks like it should be from movie, "Night of the Giant Crab" or something like that!

Really, this is the biggest we've ever seen. I wonder what the biggest crab ever found was?

Amazing.

Japanese spider crab
by: Liz

The Japanese spider crab is the largest crab in the world, I think. It can grow up to 12 feet across from leg to leg.

I think the one I found was an edible brown crab.

Crab Claw

That claw, I believe, is from a stone crab.
They are absolutely delectable. This particular crab grows his claw back within a year. They are only available at restaurants in months with an "r".
