Red/orange piece found, is it Amberina?

~ question submitted by Madeline from Skagit County, WA

Hello, I found this, my first piece of red(!)about a month ago at Rosario Beach on Fidalgo Island, WA.

The piece of glass I found is perfectly round on one side with a flat back, 8mm by 10mm, is a deep ruby red with a slight orange gradient to it.

To me it seems as if it came from decorative glass as opposed to a nautical light...I say this because of the gradient coloring and the perfect oval shape, like it was a decorative 'bump'.

Amberina is my best guess.

Thank you for looking.

Red sea glass from?

Red sea glass from?

~ sea glass ID question submitted by Mary in Wisconsin

I have found 2 pieces of red glass on a lake in southern Wisconsin.

This is piece is about 1" x 1" and has a slight curve to it.

It is frosted and about 1/8" thick.

The edges are smooth.

Does anyone have any suggestions what this glass came from?

Royal Ruby
by: Staciekutz

My guess is that it is a shard from a Schlitz Royal Ruby beer bottle. These were produced in 1949, 50 and 63.

Red sea glass identification
by: David @ Odyssey

There are so many possibilities that I don't think it can be narrowed down much. I would guess that it is from an old red warning light if it is thick or from glassware if it is thinner, like a vase or knicknack.
