River Beach Glass Willamette Oregon

Hi All...

I have been trying to collect beach/sea glass for years, but have never found a single piece.. today I took my son for a little walk along the Willamette River in Oregon and found so many pieces.

Some weren't ready yet, but today I brought one light blue piece, three green pieces and 2 purples.

Is it true that the purple use to be white but over time and oxidation it turns purple?

I hope to look over the site for more answers and clues, and I think this will become a weekly stop for us.

Thank you to anyone who answers.
