What is this and how old/what era could this be from?

Beach Glass Lake Michigan 1

Beach Glass Lake Michigan 1

Hello, as we were walking along the shores of Lake Michigan the other day we found this piece of beach glass.

It is a little bit bigger than a quarter. It is black to the naked eye with a purple frost on it.

Almost no light goes through it, only in a certain spot is the purple barely visible.

We were wondering if someone could help us identify what kind of glass this is, black glass, black amethyst, or purple glass, and if possible, how old the glass is.

Many thanks!

"Sun" on Sea Glass Shard? - Spain

My daughter found this sun piece

My daughter found this sun piece

Technically I picked it up but she pointed it out.

I didn't see the sun on it and thinking it was just a normally piece I almost passed it up but she insisted and I'm glad she did.

Anyone recognize this?

While this is actually "yard glass", I was hoping someone might have a clue to its history.

I wish I could say I found it on a beach but it was discovered in my yard on an Easter Egg Hunt!

Thanks in advance.
