Semi-transparent green disc

by Avshalom Elyada

Hi,

Some years ago I found a small green disc. I found it on a beach in some travel location that I cannot remember, kept it although didn't know what is was.

I've attached pics. Is this sea-glass?

What did it originate from?

How much is it worth?

Thanks,

Avshalom.

Green beach glass disk
by: David

Hi Avshalom,

Since the piece of glass was found on a beach, it definitely is beach glass. If it was an ocean beach, then it is also more specifically sea glass (a type of beach glass).

Identification of piece like you have found usually comes from folks who have seen a similar piece somewhere. With hundreds of thousands of different designs over the centuries, it is very difficult to identify a piece of sea glass unless it has identifiable markings.

Hopefully, one of our thousands of daily viewers will recognize this piece; at least what it is from.

That being said, your piece is an excellent find and great for your collection. As far as what it is worth, probably not much unless you came across a collector who was passionate about making it part of his/her collection.

If we had that piece, we would keep it for our collection since our selling price would have to be about $15.00 and the value really should be much more - it's just that it's almost impossible to sell in the online market.

A sea glass fair or show would be the place to expose it to collectors and perhaps get a great price for it.

We hope this helps,

David and Lin
