Blue and white in Volendam, Holland

I’ve travelled to Volendam twice and found beautiful blue and white glass both times! The glass I found is from a tiny bit of beach on the Markermeer at the end of the street in Volendam where all the famous photo studios operate.

Volendam is on the Markermeer, a large lake in the Netherlands
by: David & Lin

Volendam is situated on the shores of the Markermeer, a large lake in the central Netherlands. The Markermeer was created as a result of the construction of the Houtribdijk, a dam completed in 1976 that separated the Markermeer from the IJsselmeer. The lake offers opportunities for boating, fishing, and other water activities, and its scenic shores are dotted with charming towns and villages like Volendam. Visitors to Volendam can enjoy strolling along the waterfront promenade, taking in views of the lake and the surrounding countryside, and perhaps even going on a boat tour to explore the area further.

Because of its history, you are likely to find interesting ceramic shards and glass fragments. However, the chance of finding weathered beach glass is highly unlikely due to lack of wave action.
