WINNER! ~ sea glass contest photo submitted by Brian Jenkins, New Harbor, Maine

Where was this photo taken?

This photo was taken along the rocky coast of Pemaquid Point, New Harbor, Maine.

It was June 10, 2014 in late afternoon just before a glorious sunset on a perfect late spring day.

What were your feelings or impressions when taking this photo?

The excitement of finding beautiful specimens of blue, pink, green, amber, and frosty white sea glass is a wonderful feeling.

We even gathered pieces of sea pottery, driftwood, and unusual rocks.

This was the perfect picture to convey the sense of tranquility and peaceful adventure of the afternoon.

The only sounds were the gentle waves, the gulls, and an occasional loon.

What kind of camera and/or lens did you use?

Samsung Galaxy sea glass photo camera

Samsung Galaxy

I used my Samsung Galaxy S3 phone with an 8 megapixel camera.

What tips or suggestions do you have for other photographers?

I like to use a casual but natural setting to best display sea glass and other finds. Soft natural light always seems to be the best.
