Can you help with this Scottish beach pottery shard ?

This is a roughly 4cm piece with what looks like a ship, some flowers, and the letter R. Found on Portobello beach in Edinburgh.

Hi there. The design on it looks to me like brown transfer print, which is a somewhat late development in the history of transfer print, so I'd probably give this thing a date of around mid-nineteenth century at the earliest. The ship and flowers also look like something from that period to me aesthetically. If I had to guess, it was made on the UK, but that's only a guess. Cool find!
