Sandy Hook Beach New Jersey *
~ beach report submitted by Marie W. from Hazlet, New Jersey
Reporting on Sandy Hook Beach, New Jersey USA
Every color of sea glass you can think of I have found here, all well-rounded and frosted.
I have gone home with 50 plus pieces per hour. Yellow, red every color blue you can think of black grey pink and so on.
The best time of course is low tide. It also depends on the time of year.
Fall and spring is the best. Because of all the rocks and shells on this beach it makes for perfect sea glass hunting.
Some days the tide brings nothing up. Other days you don't know where to look first!
This year the beach is closed due to super storm Sandy.

Next to Sandy Hook is Sea Bright Beach. I have again found many colors of sea glass here to.
If you live in this area you should be able to find sea glass here. You will also find small sand dollars and shells.
I would rate this beach excellent - 10+ pieces of jewelry grade sea glass found per hour.
We appreciate this report - and all reports we receive. However, when evaluating a report, use good judgment. Note: - Incomplete report - No photos were included with this
report. - The only other report we have received on this beach shows only craft-grade glass.
As always, we remind folks that sea glass beach reports are not confirmed by Lin or me at Odyssey Sea Glass unless otherwise stated. David and Lin @ OdysseySeaGlass |
